Encounters Must Change You
In this episode, we’re drawn into the sobering truth found in 1 Corinthians 10:5—a reminder that powerful encounters with God, as real and life-changing as they may feel, are never meant to stand alone. Israel experienced the cloud, the miracles, the spiritual food and drink, and the leadership of Moses, yet Scripture tells us that “with most of them God was not pleased.” They were overthrown in the wilderness, not because God was absent, but because their encounters never produced transformation. This passage challenges us to examine the condition of our own hearts. Do our moments of worship, prayer, and breakthrough lead to actual change in our attitudes, desires, and decisions? Or have we grown comfortable living on memories of encounters without allowing them to shape who we are becoming? Encounters with God are invitations—opportunities to be renewed, refined, and realigned with His will. The message of this episode is simple but deeply confronting: spiritual experiences carry a purpose. When God meets us, He intends to mold us. Transformation isn’t passive; it requires humility, intention, and a willingness to let God deal with what’s within. Otherwise, like Israel, we risk wandering—holding the blessings but missing the fruit. Ultimately, this episode calls us to let every encounter leave a mark on our hearts. To choose growth over comfort, renewal over routine, and obedience over familiarity. When we respond to God with teachability and sincerity, we not only honor His presence—we avoid the wilderness and walk faithfully in the life He’s prepared for us.
